How you contact us is changing – Anima total triage

From 1st June 26 the practice will be moving to a total triage appointment model using our online consultation system anima.

What is total triage?

Total triage is a system where all patient requests – for medical advice, appointments or admin – are submitted in the same way, through an online system. Every request is clinically reviewed so that you are directed to the right service or professional, based on your need.

Why are we making this change?

We have listened to patient concerns and the current way of booking appointments is not working for everyone. The total triage system aims to eliminate the 8am rush on the phones and at our reception desk. Our aim is to give everyone fair and equal access to care.

What system will we use?

Online requests can be submitted through anima. Anima can be accessed by using the button on our website home page, or by clicking this link Anima
Anima will be available Monday-Friday, 8:00am-6.30pm. It will be unavailable at weekends and on bank holidays.

What if I do not have access to the internet?

If you are unable to submit a request online, please call or visit the practice. A member of our reception team will assist you in completing the anima form on your behalf.

We would encourage those who are able, to submit an anima request themselves. This will keep our phone lines available for those who need our support.

Will I get an appointment quicker if I speak to reception instead?

No. All requests, however they come to us, will be processed in the same way.

Our reception team will no longer be booking appointments, they will only be able to submit online requests on behalf of patients.

All requests will be looked at by the triaging GP.

What happens after I submit a request?

All requests will go to our GP-led triage team.

The GP will assess your request. Appointments will be given to those that need them, prioritised based on clinical need. We will have urgent on-the-day telephone consultations, urgent on-the-day face to face appointments, routine telephone consultations and routine face to face appointments available.
A GP may not be the most suitable service or professional for your request. The GP may signpost you to either a paramedic, a physiotherapist, nurse or to a local pharmacy.
